Could there be anything better than combining my favorite things: tea and wintertime?
This is the most precious time of the year! With all of its coziness, the perfect excuse to wear gorgeous coats and layered outfits, Oh, and don’t forget about the magic of the holidays.
One of my cherished winter memories is spending the holidays in Paris. Besides having the prettiest cites, the French know how to make the winter look magical! I attended delicious tea afternoons at their gorgeous hotels and would always grab a tea and walk my way to Champs-Élysées, sipping along the way and letting the tea keep me warm and cozy. Is there anything better than window shopping at this time of the year?
Since then, I’ve been in love with afternoon tea! Sometimes I invite my friends over and create a full table of desserts. But most of the time, I use tea time to relax and enjoy the moment – keeping me in a good mood even on busy days. We all have those crazy days when it’s so hard to find time to unwind, right? But taking a few minutes to yourself is a little luxury that you surely deserve!
Rich, creamy and slightly spicy, my favorite drink for the cold months is a chai tea latte, and I love making it at home right before bedtime. To be honest, I don’t make everything from scratch, I would rather use TAZO® Chai Specialty Tea. The rich, warm spices of chai tea combined with cinnamon make it so delicious and soothing.
There are two super easy and quick ways to enjoy your chai tea, and I’ve prepared both to share with you. All the ingredients were purchased at Publix, including the TAZO Chai Specialty Tea and the TAZO Chai Latte Concentrate.
Traditional Chai Tea
- One tea bag, TAZO Chai Specialty Tea
- A teaspoon of brown sugar, if desired
- Cinnamon stick
After boiling the water, let the tea bag rest in the cup for five minutes. Enjoy these quick minutes to apply your favorite face mask or select a relaxing song. After the tea is ready, you can mix a teaspoon of brown sugar if, like me, you have a taste for the sweet things.
You will love the rich notes of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and black pepper. Since this decaf TAZO Chai Specialty Tea has 20 individually wrapped tea bags, the flavors are always fresh and intense. And you can explore a little more and serve it on your iced tea mix.
Homemade Chai Tea Latte
- TAZO Chai Latte Concentrate or TAZO Skinny Chai Latte Concentrate
- Your choice of milk or non-dairy option.
- A teaspoon of brown sugar, if desired.
- A pinch of cinnamon powder or cinnamon sugar
- Cinnamon stick
Mix equal parts of Chai Latte Concentrate with milk or any milk substitute and heat it on the stove or microwave. I particularly use lactose-free dairy milk, because I love to have my lattes full of foam! But there are so many dairy-free options out there that you can easily substitute it.
Let your Chai Latte sit down for a minute before adding your toppings of choice. I’ve added cinnamon sugar and a cinnamon stick purely for decoration since it is already so delicious!
This Chai Tea Latte brings a rich blend of black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom & vanilla. On cold mornings, I love to drink it very warm… that cozy feeling helps me to get out of my pajamas and ready to start the day!
Now is the perfect opportunity to get your stash ready for the cold months: Publix is offering amazing winter savings here, with $1.00 off of any one (1) TAZO Specialty Tea 15 – 20 ct. or TAZO Concentrate 32 oz.
If you follow me on Instagram, you must have seen that I’ve been super busy and stressed with college this fall semester, and you are probably in the same state of mind… a little drained by university of work – and dreaming about the holidays, right?
I’ve started incorporating these little relaxing moments in between my routine – that may seem small but literally, bring me the happiest winter memories! Are you also counting the days to wear warm sweaters and enjoy the best of winter?
I hope you enjoyed this post! Tell me in the comments what are your most cherished winter memories, I’m so curious to know if we share the same love for this season! And don’t forget to check out TAZO’s page to explore all the special tea flavors!
